James
Hey, my name is James Ruble and I am originally from Dallas, Texas. I enjoy all things nerdy from video games to Dungeons and Dragons. I love spending time with my wife, Rachel, and our dog, Shiloh. To me, interior design is about benefiting others through the spaces we create.
The “Haven” is a floating sanctuary off the coast of Los Angeles that provides housing and career development services for the homeless.
Hannah
Hey! My name is Hannah Porter. I am from Norman, Oklahoma and some things I love are the Amazing Race, the color blue, and knick-knacks of all sorts. Travel is a love of mine, especially learning about other cultures and past civilizations. To me, interior architecture and design is edifying. From design, one learns how people function from day to day in many spaces, and in return, how those spaces can make you feel and react to different situations. God first designed the world, and he has created us with that ability as well. Design helps shape cultures and future civilizations. When people can make a space their own, they become more relaxed and comfortable. You can also learn a lot about a person from how they arrange their personal spaces. I design to educate, inspire, and comfort.
Yakman Middle School is a charter school with a STEAM-based curriculum that emphasizes personal development through autonomous and collaborative education and an environment that promotes flexibility and ownership.
Joanna
My name is Joanna Roberts. I am from Harrison, Arkansas. A few things I love are spending time outside, a good Netflix series, traveling with friends, soft blankets, and anything written by Kiera Cass, JK Rowling, or Cinda Williams Chima. To me, design is creative. Creativity is something that everyone has inside of them. I want to design spaces that allow users to make their own creative solutions in their work, places they visit, or even their home. Design should inspire individuals and make them feel comfortable, productive, and safe in their surroundings.

Katie
Hi, my name is Katie Fields and I am from San Francisco, CA! Growing up in such a beautiful state helped shape my imagination and personal love for the things in this world. Design to me is ever-lasting, our world is constantly changing and as designers we need to be changing and evolving with the world as well. I went into this degree not fully knowing what to expect, but I have grown a whole deeper knowledge and meaning of what it is to design for others, to make a difference in their lives by creating and manipulating spaces, and to find the best possible outcomes and solutions for everyone getting to experience my design. As a designer my aim is to help others better themselves in the environments I create.

Megan
Hey! My name is Megan Hooper and I’m from Ft. Worth Texas! I am getting married this
summer and am so excited to start a new life journey. I love hanging out with my fiancé, friends and family! I am a lover of all things fashion and design. They are huge passions of mine and I enjoy intertwining them into everyday life. My personal design philosophy is to use the gift of design by serving others and creating a space that makes people feel inspired, energized, and comforted. A person should walk into any place and automatically feel at peace with their surroundings. At the same time, there should also be a “wow” factor, and it needs to reflect in every little detail. Design draws people in emotionally and physically. It is what connects us all. Good design matters.

ana
Hello! My name is Ana Quintero and I’m a lover of all things creative! I’m also a huge fan of ice cream, flowers, the ocean and sweet friendships. To me, design is empathetic. To be successful designers, we must be able to put ourselves in the shoes of those we are designing for. Without empathy, spaces are stark, uncomfortable and awkward, making the occupant’s life harder instead of easier. So my priority as a designer is to create seamless environments where individuals using those spaces are able to be their best selves and achieve their own goals.
The Garden House is a place where teen girls that struggle with mental illness can access therapy as well as creative and exercise classes, that are hosted onsite, to regain their confidence and mental wellness.
tori
Hi there! My name is Tori Cox and I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I enjoy painting watercolor pieces, a good road trip playlist, and quick napkin sketches. Two of my greatest passions in life are History and Design. Not only do the progressive styles and changes that can be seen throughout the ages in architecture and design give us a glimpse into the lives and values of the people from our past, but they also continue to be great sources of inspiration and creativity even today. However, this has not stopped with the architecture of today. The spaces we create continue to do just these things. Because of this, I believe that design is impactful and I design with the intent to instill creativity and a sense of belonging.

alexis
My name is Alexis Haney. I am from Macomb, Illinois. Some things that I really enjoy doing in my free time are hanging out with friends, being outdoors, and sitting down to read a good book. To me, a good design is inclusive. My goal is to design spaces that are comfortable, safe spaces that are inspiring to everyone that will come into them no matter their background. I believe that design should enhance the lives of anyone who enters the space.
The project is in a multi-use facility that includes affordable housing and a food co-op providing stability for families and improved nutrition throughout the surrounding community.
Garrett
Hey! My name is Garrett Coker and I’m from Dallas, Texas! I love all things film, cooking and spending time with friends and family. If I had all the money in the world I would pick up everything I own and would travel and experience new cultures while meeting so many people along the way. Design has meant so much to me during my time in college and I can not wait to apply what I’ve learned to the real world. To me, design is the starting point of life and experiences. Therefore, design should be embraced with curiosity, optimism, and a sense of adventure that will catch your attention while remaining influential, inspiring, and inclusive to all.
